#best09: take a seat
As part of the Best of 2009 Blog Challenge I’ll be blogging daily on the bests of 2009. Blog candy. Yum.
{December 5: Night out. Did you have a night out with friends or a loved one that rocked your world? Who was there? What was the highlight of the night?}
Fortunately, I had many, many of these this year. Some with tons of people, and a few with just one.
I’m addicted to my gCal, and in many of these best09 posts I cycle back through it week by week to remind me of some of the amazing times I’ve had this year. It’s been a year of transition for me: Quitting my job, moving with my parents to take care of Baby Kailey, starting a company, my heart has swelled with love, and loss.
Year to year, there is one constant in that remains in my life. A constant that helps me through the bad times, and helps celebrate the good times. And those are my incredible friends. Many of whom I’ve known for the majority of my life. I’m fortunate to have these wonderful people by my side, to support and grow with. To lean on when I can’t stand. And there’s been a lot of leaning this year!
However, when trying to pick my favorite night of the year, I tried to think of mornings. The next morning when you wake up and you can’t stop smiling. You can’t stop thinking about how much funĀ you had. And you hope to repeat that night over and over again. I immediately thought of a night in July that I spent with a new friend. The kind of night you read about in silly books that get turned into to even sillier RomComs. A night filled with hours and hours of conversation, music, laughter. And no matter how the story ends, you’re thankful for that one night. Mostly for giving you hope of what is possible. Yeah, I had one of those kind of nights.
