Ok, only halfway kidding. Yes, a few of us that collided with culture last week at Discovery Green, also collided with some bad culture: some of the food did not sit well with our tummies. We self-diagnosed as salmonella poisoning due to our simialr symptoms, which can be caused by improperly prepared or served food.
No worries, though. This was an external vendor that was brought in, not food from the Lakehouse or the Grove. And of course not to take away from the fabulous event put on by Fresh Arts and HYPA. Seriously, it happens people. And we are all still alive.
No hard feelings, DG. And here is your weekly schedule of events to prove that.

Join The Front Row team for a live broadcast as they take KUHF’s daily arts show out of the studio and onto Discovery Green’s outdoor stage. The program will feature live performances including a preview of KUHF’s silent film concert, Metropolis, with Austin’s Golden Hornet Project.

KUHF Houston Public Radio presents a series of silent film screenings accompanied by live music. Metropolis (1927), set in 2026 in a futuristic city sharply divided between the working class and the city planners, tells of the son of the city’s mastermind who falls in love with a working class prophet who predicts the coming of a savior to mediate their differences.

Is anyone else as in love with our newest park as I am? I LIVE across the street from Hermann Park and I’ve never been as excited about their programs as the ones at, as the beloved Fayza calls it, DiscoGreen.
